Computer Society of India (CSI) is the first and largest body of computer professionals in India. It was started on 6 March 1965 by a few computer professionals and has now grown to be the national body representing computer professionals.Computer Society of India (CSI) Delhi Chapter was started on 21 August, 1970 by a few computer professionals.
Historically, Delhi had been the Centre of power from ages. It
has been the major activity centre in India both for Business
and Industry. In early 1960 itself; Delhi witnessed sufficient
growth of computer usage. The population of computer instal
lation and computer users has shown exponential increase ev
ery successive year. After formation of CSI in 1965, the need
was felt to have a activity centre at Delhi. It was on 20th August
1970 when the Constitution & Bye-laws of Delhi Chapter were
approved and Chapter got off to a start under the Chairman
ship of Prof. J.C. Shourie, IIT Delhi. The chapter has the dis
tinction of providing numbers of Presidents to Exe Com. to name
few are Dr. R.K. Dutta, Brig. SVS Chowdhry, Dr. M.L. Goyal,
R.S. Raizada, Brig. V.M. Sundram, P.P. Gupta....
